matthew pierson

Matt grew up immersed in athletics, having both parents as coaches of collegiate teams.

He spent his youth competing in high levels of tennis, baseball, and soccer respectively.

In tennis he excelled, and competed at every level of youth regional and national events. He spent time training at different academies growing up like Austin Tennis Academy where he would train with other top juniors. He played 1 season of collegiate tennis at The College of New Jersey where he attended.

He then took a year to commit and train at the highest level, competing in professional events and training at The John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, Tx where he trained each day with top juniors in the world.

This training and hard work yielded wins over a number of players inside the top 500 in the world, however it was to be short lived due to a career ending elbow injury. This led him to go back and finish school at The College of New Jersey where he studied Mass Communications. During this time he also spent a large portion of his time working with and coaching his younger sister who got to as high as #3 in the nation in the girls 18’s, and went on to have an ALL-American career in singles and doubles both at University of Virginia and then Texas A&M.

Upon finishing school Matt took employment at The Lewis School in Princeton, New Jersey where his mother ran the athletics program while he was in college. He then took over the Athletics and Physical education program and ran it for the past 10 years, getting to work with ages 5-21 at a place that emphasized learning for students with dyslexia.

He has a tremendous passion for working with both kids and athletes. In the 10 years he spent at the Lewis School he continued to train elite juniors and adults on the tennis court in his spare time.

Due to his injury, he also developed an enormous passion for lifting and fitness as he needed and athletic outlet. This led him to work with different children and adults in cultivating workout and nutrition plans as well as personal training.
